Alta Via dei Monti Lattari · 30 April – 3 May 2026 📅

Alta Via dei Monti Lattari · 30 April – 3 May 2026 ⛰️

An epic thru-hike between sky and sea, following the watershed of the Lattari Mountains at the most explosive time of spring. 🌊🌿

Four intense days, backpack on, along the full traverse of the Lattari Mountains: from the ancient abbeys on the Salerno side all the way to the mermaids’ sea at Punta Campanella, through airy ridgelines, hidden valleys and bivy nights under the stars. ✨
This is the Spring 2026 edition of one of the most iconic multi‑day treks in Southern Italy: ultra‑limited spots, high‑impact experience both emotionally and in terms of wild nature.
It is not for everyone, but it might be exactly for you. 💥

Key info · Alta Via dei Monti Lattari 2026

📍 Where we are going

We will follow the ridgeline of the Lattari Mountains, crossing the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento Peninsula between Cava de’ Tirreni and Punta Campanella, along the original Alta Via trail.

⛰️ Exposed ridges
🌊 Constant sea views
🌲 Forests, ravines and ancient mule tracks
🗓 Dates & format
  • From: 30 April 2026 (Thursday)
  • To: 3 May 2026 (Sunday)
  • Format: multi‑day point‑to‑point traverse, with partial self‑sufficiency, carrying backpack and full bivouac gear.

The detailed itinerary may be adjusted according to weather conditions, group level and overall safety.

🥾 Level & commitment
  • Demanding trek, not a touristic hike, for experienced and well‑conditioned hikers.
  • Full days on the move (up to 10–12 hours), with long sections on the ridge and exposed passages on E/EE terrain.
  • At least 2 nights in bivouac and 1 night in a mountain hut or high‑altitude accommodation, depending on conditions and logistics.

🔥 Only 8 spots available

Registrations close automatically as soon as 8 participants are confirmed. No waiting list, no overbooking: small group, big intensity. 💪

After submitting your request, you will receive all details to officially confirm your participation and to check the minimum requirements. ✅

This is not a “postcard trek” 😉
It is a true immersion in the Lattari Mountains: variable weather, authentic effort, exposed terrain and minimalistic logistics. In return: mind‑blowing views, deep connection with the group and one of the most intense sea‑to‑summit experiences you can live in this area. 🌅

What you will experience along the Alta Via dei Monti Lattari 🚶‍♂️

The Lattari Mountains are the compact ridge line set between the two gulfs of the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento Peninsula: a suspended watershed alternating high‑altitude sanctuaries, wild valleys, knife‑edge ridges dropping straight into the sea and silent woods.
Together we will cover the full, original traverse from the ancient Badia di Cava (Year 1000) all the way to the mermaids’ sea at Punta Campanella, crossing exposed tops with short scrambling sections, hanging saddles and rock pinnacles overlooking the deep blue.
This is the only mountain range in the world above 1000 metres with such a direct and continuous exposure to the sea. 🌊⛰️

In a nutshell, what awaits you

🌄 Lattari ridges and summits
From Badia di Cava to the peaks that tower over the Coast

Long, sustained progressions, exposed ridge sections, major elevation changes, and 360‑degree views over the Gulf of Salerno, the Gulf of Naples, Vesuvius and the islands.

🌙 Nights in bivouac
Sleeping truly “inside” the mountain

At least two nights in bivouac, with shared management of space, rhythm and group energy: the moment when the experience stops being just an “event” and becomes real mountain life. 🔥

🌊 From summits to the mermaids’ sea
A symbolic landfall at Punta Campanella

The traverse gently descends towards the coastline, until your eyes meet Capri and the mythic Punta Campanella headland: the final section is your personal threshold between the “before” and “after” of this trek.

Who this trek is for (and who it is not for) ⚠️

✅ If this is for you…

  • You already have experience with long mountain days and time at altitude with a fully loaded backpack.
  • You feel comfortable on exposed, technical and uneven terrain (E/EE rating).
  • You like the idea of sharing space, unforeseen events and decisions with a small group.
  • You are looking for a wild, intense and unapologetic experience of the Lattari Mountains.

🚫 If this is not for you…

  • You are looking for a short hike, with hotel return every evening and full tourist comfort.
  • You have no experience with significant elevation gain repeated over several consecutive days.
  • The idea of sleeping in a bivouac and adapting to essential conditions makes you uncomfortable.

If you prefer something softer, you can consider the 68 km “Cammino dei Monti Lattari”, a more progressive way to discover the area.

Essential gear 🎒

MANDATORY GEAR: hiking boots, large backpack, technical clothing comfortable and suited to the season, waterproof shell, sleeping bag and sleeping pad for bivouac, headlamp, personal first‑aid kit and solid adaptability to changing conditions.

Before final confirmation, we will send you a detailed info pack with recommended gear list, logistics, day‑by‑day plan and minimum participation requirements.

  2. You will receive our reply with any follow‑up questions and instructions to confirm your spot.
