The history of Amalfi stems from its impregnable coastlines that have shaped the history of Europe and the Maritime Republics since 800 AD, namely the unassailable Kingdom of Amalfi. The life of Amalfi’s inhabitants took place essentially at sea, given its geographic location between the coast and the mountains. Furthermore, they were among the first to use the compass in the Mediterranean, importing it from the East, or as some would even say, it was the Amalfitans themselves who invented it here in this territory where the verticality of the cliffs is interrupted only by the cobalt horizon of the sea.

For centuries, the Amalfi Coast has fascinated everyone… it is world-renowned for its towering limestone cliffs plunging sheer into the sea. Equipped with a boat, climbing shoes, and chalk, we will DWS climb the coves and secret sea-climbing spots of the magnificent Amalfi Coast.
Deep Water Soloing (DWS), also known as “psicobloc”, is a form of solo climbing without ropes practiced on sea cliffs, where the only protection is provided by the water at the base of the wall. As with free soloing, equipment is kept to the absolute bare minimum—climbing shoes and chalk bag. We will accompany you in the safest possible way to help you fully enjoy this fantastic experience.
